Position: Art Editor
Location: Remote
Type: Voluntary, approximately 3–5 hours per week
About the Role
Zimmer Magazine is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Art Editor to help shape the visual identity of our magazine. If you have a passion for publication design, typography, and branding, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your portfolio, collaborate with a passionate editorial team, and see your designs come to life.
You will work closely with our editorial team to turn written content into beautiful, reader-friendly page layouts and ensure our brand looks cohesive and consistent across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Design the visual layouts for print magazine pages

Help establish and maintain a consistent visual style, including colour palettes, font choices, and overall aesthetic of our brand

Coordinate with the editorial team to source and format high-quality images, illustrations, etc.

Work alongside the Editor-in-Chief to ensure the visual design complements the tone and message of the written piece
Qualifications Required

Experience with Adobe InDesign, Canva and Photoshop

A strong understanding of typography, alignment and grid systems

A portfolio or examples of previous design work, whether that be school or university projects or personal work

Reliable and able to collaborate remotely with our editorial team to meet our production deadlines
