Zimmer Magazine defines itself as the magazine for the curious reader. We seek the truth and believe in challenging the world around us. We achieve this through high-quality, independent and international journalism and research — scouring global literature, arts and cultures to discover something new and inviting. It is what allowed us to launch our magazine subscription, selling to readers in several European countries, and allowing us to offer journalism worth paying for.
We move across literature, arts, and cultures in search of voices that are often overlooked, misrepresented, anonymised, or simplified. We are drawn to complexity, and our work seeks to sit alongside its subjects, allowing stories to unfold on their own terms. Our focus is to challenge inherited social taboos and instead celebrate difference; people as they are.
The digital age has meant that reading is less special, intimate. Literature is and has always been the cornerstone of living; from fiction that helped women gain the right to vote, to holy books creating religions and identities that still shape us today. Though the printing world seems to be on the decline, our print subscription is the driving force of our magazine, and we are devoted to upholding this standard of magazine printing for the future to come.
